I recently read an article about the endangered
dolphins in New Zealand, the author of the text is Eleanor de Jong. This
species called maui is the rarest dolphin in the world. It is estimated that
only 63 of them live today. Fortunately, the inhabitants ( 81% of them), but
also the government, do everything to prevent these beautiful animals from
becoming extinct. A non-profit organization is also working to better protect
dolphins. They create a drone that will allow you to find and collect data
about Maui dolphins at a much lower cost than traditional methods. The
collected data is to be made available to the public and help fishing companies
not to affect the areas of endangered dolphins. The
entire project will cost half a million dollars. In my opinion, such actions
are very good, because animal species are disappearing mainly because of
people, so we must do our best to prevent it.
